In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rallied 374.65 points or 1.66% to 22,997.35.


The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, posted modest losses of 4.10%.


Vodafone Idea Ltd, Yes Bank Ltd and Suzlon Energy Ltd were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.


The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
