India’s trade ties with Japan are expanding significantly, according to ASSOCHAM.
26-Aug-2026, 04:38

The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) said in its latest update that India’s trade ties with Japan are expanding significantly, supported by a series of high-level bilateral exchanges. Recent trade developments and promising investment announcements are expected to help lift bilateral trade to USD 50 billion by 2030, from USD 27.47 billion in 2025-26.

Japan has remained an important trade and investment partner in India’s economic development, with both countries expected to build on their longstanding relationship. Japan is currently the fifth-largest investor in India and has committed JPY 10 trillion in private investment over the next decade, underscoring its continued confidence in India’s economic growth prospects.
