Indus Infra Trust plans to acquire assets valued at INR 5,200 crores by 2027
10-Aug-2026, 05:04
Indus Infra Trust anticipates acquiring 5 to 6 assets with an enterprise value of approximately INR 5,200 crores by fiscal year 2027, funded by INR 3,200 crores of equity and INR 2,000 crores of debt, potentially requiring additional equity later. The trust’s gross debt to assets under management currently stands at 48%, though a temporary debt repayment delay inflates this figure to around 43-44%, with a target range of 45-63%. A recent regulatory change allows debt used for major maintenance repairs to be excluded from net distributable cash flow calculations, and the company is exploring the possibility of listing depository receipts on foreign exchanges. Management emphasized a prudent approach to debt management and highlighted mitigation strategies for potential road maintenance risks, including fixed-price contracts and insurance coverage.
