Aditya Birla Sun Life Capital Advisors Limited has utilized Rs 2,993.14 crore of the Rs 4,000 crore raised through a recent preferential issue of securities, according to a report by India Ratings. The funds, earmarked for growth objectives including lending business expansion and loan repayment, have been deployed as follows: Rs 1,950.97 crore went towards the lending business and Rs 550.97 crore was used for loan repayment. Notably, no funds have been allocated to General Corporate Purposes, a deviation from the initial allocation plan. Currently, Rs 1,006.86 crore remains unutilized and is held in mutual funds and a bank account. While the report indicates the two-year timeframe for complete implementation is still in progress, the substantial unutilized portion and lack of GCP deployment warrant further investigation and clarification from the company.
