Apollo Micro Systems delivered an SDD to the Indian Navy, boosting defence self-reliance

Apollo Micro Systems Limited has handed over an indigenously developed Safety & Detonation Device (SDD) to the Indian Navy, marking a reduction in procurement costs and contributing to enhanced self-reliance in the defence sector, according to a company disclosure. The handover, which occurred on July 30, 2026, was conducted in the presence of Rear Admiral Rupak Barua, VSM, Director General of Naval Inspection (DGNAI), and senior officers of the Indian Navy, and signifies a move away from previously relying on imports for this critical equipment.
